ACTING CEO OF PETROLEUM COMMISSION CALLS ON CNS

The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Petroleum Commission, Ms Emeafa Hardcastle paid a working visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS),Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu at the Naval Headquarters on Friday 14 February 2025.

The visit was to officially introduce herself to the CNS and also engage in an interaction that would strengthen the existing relationship between Ghana Navy and Petroleum Commission. It also sought to explore opportunities for cooperation in the maritime sector and protection within the oil and gas industry.

While highlighting the significant role Ghana Navy plays in ensuring security operations thus safeguarding its maritime waters, Vice Admiral Yakubu stressed the need for capacity building for naval personnel through training which is crucial for the Oil and Gas sector.

On her part, the Acting CEO expressed gratitude for the warm reception and was hopeful fruitful collaborations between them and the Navy would deepen. She mentioned Petroleum Commission will continue to support the Navy in diverse ways in achieving its core mandate of securing its waters.

The CNS extended felicitations to the Acting CEO on her appointment. He also presented a plaque and a customized Ghana Navy Kente stole to Ms Hardcastle to signify bilateral relations between the two institutions.

Ms Hardcastle was accompanied by Mr Mohammed A Kapeon, Manager Petroleum Security and Mr Kweku Boateng Director Local Content of Petroleum Commission.

As part of the visit, the team toured the Maritime Operating Centre, Biekro Museum and the Vessel Traffic Management and Information System Centre at the Naval Headquarters.
