GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
1. Eligible applicants should:
- a. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
- b. Be of good character.
- c. Not be less than 18 years and not more than 26 years by 06 August 2020 for Regular Commission, and not more than 30 years by 27 February 2020 for Short Service Commission.
- d. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standard.
- e. Not be bonded.
- f. Not be married (for Regular Officer Candidates only).
- g. Be of minimum height of 1.68m (5’6”) for males and 1.60m (5’4”) for females.

For Military Police only; the minimum height for male applicants
should be 1.75m (5`9``) and 1.70m (5’ 7”) for females.
- h. Must have the following:
(1) BECE. Six (6) Passes at BECE including English and Mathematics.
(2) WASSCE. Six (6) Credits (not less than C6) including Core English and Core Mathematics.
OR
(3) SSSCE. Six (6) Credits (not less than D) including Core English and Core Mathematics.
OR
(4) GCE ‘O’ & ‘A’ Levels. Five (5) Credits (not less than 6) including English and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Level and not less than D in three subjects and General Paper at GCE ‘A’ Level.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
a. Executive Branch. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:
(1) Nautical Science.
(2) Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Statistics.
(3) Computer Science.
(4) Oceanography or Geomatic Engineering.
b. Technical Branch. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:
(1) Marine Engineering.
(2) Mechanical Engineering.
(3) Electrical Engineering.
(4) Marine Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
c. Supply and Secretariat Branch. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University or equivalent Professional Institution in any of the following:
(1) Administration (Human Resource/Accounting/Marketing/Banking & Finance).
(2) Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
(3) Port and Shipping Administration.
(4) Management Studies/Commerce.
(5) Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
(6) Economics.
(7) Preference will be given to applicants with additional certificates in the
following:
(a) Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administration (ICSA) – Final Part.
(b) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) – Level 5.
(c) Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) – Final Part.
d. Public Relations. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have First Degree not below Second Class Lower in any of the following from a recognized University/Institution:
(1) Communication (Studies and Design).
(2) Public Relations.
(3) Fine Arts (NAFTI).
(4) Journalism.
(5) Film and Television Production.
(6) Broadcasting.
e. Band. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Music from a recognized University/Institution.
