The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu hosted members of the Association of Retired Naval Officers (ARNO) at the Anchor House, Accra on Saturday 11 January 2025.
The occasion was to celebrate and honour Retired naval officers for their service, dedication and commitment which has contributed immensely to the growth of the Ghana Navy. The event was also used to congratulate the CNS for his promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral.
In his remarks, Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu expressed gratitude to the Retired officers for their loyalty and devotion to Ghana Navy's success acknowledging the invaluable wisdom and experience they brought even after their service.
He also thanked stakeholders and partners for their collaboration, emphasizing that their support was crucial in strengthening the Ghana Navy's capabilities and advancing its operational objectives.
The CNS celebrated his elevation to the rank of Vice Admiral, where he recognized the collective sacrifices, guidance, and support of his peers, family, and staff throughout his journey.
The President of ARNO, Rear Admiral Ohene Kwapong (Rtd) also expressed his gratitude to the CNS for sustaining and improving on the tradition of hosting the association and appreciated him for inviting them to celebrate his promotion.
He thanked Vice Admiral Yakubu for the significant commitment and enthusiasm for ARNO programmes, reaffirming their loyalty and reinforcing the relationship and sentimental attachment to the Ghana Navy.
He advised that ARNO is an association every naval officer should be proud to be part of when they honourably retire.
The Wives Association of Retired Naval Officers led by Mrs Emelia Dzang, presented a citation in honour of the CNS while the Staff Officers at the Naval Headquarters led by the Chief Staff Officer, Commodore Bright Atiayao presented a surprise cake to the CNS.
