The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, paid a maiden visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Tema to engage with personnel and affirm his commitment to operational excellence.
The visit, conducted on Tuesday, 3 June 2025, formed part of the CNS' itinerary to familiarize himself with personnel at ENC, outlining his strategic vision and key priorities that will guide the Ghana Navy’s efforts in 2025 and beyond.
The Flag Officer Commanding, ENC – Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi briefed the CNS on the Command's operational conditions, logistics and administrative matters and led him to inspect some ongoing projects and facilities of the Command.
In his address at a durbar, Rear Admiral Bessing interacted with Officers, Ratings, and Defence Civilian Staff of the Command where he reaffirmed the Navy's commitment to remain a combat-ready, credible, and cohesive force with a forward-looking perspective.
He emphasized that his administration would adopt a people-centred approach, prioritizing objectives such as maritime security, sovereignty protection, force readiness, professional development, and the cultivation of regional and international partnerships.
The CNS encouraged personnel to persist in their diligent efforts to fulfil these mandates effectively.
