The outgoing Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command (WNC), Commodore Samuel Walker has officially handed the Helm of Command to his successor, Commodore Emmanuel Ayensu Kwafo on Monday 7 October 2022.
As part of activities to climax the august ceremony, an All Ranks durbar was held where the incoming Commander was officially introduced to personnel.
During the durbar, Commodore Walker expressed his profound gratitude to the Officers, Men, and Defence Civilian Staff for their tireless dedication and support shown him during his two years in office as the Commander of the western Naval Command.
He added that the success of the Base was as a result of the dedication and professionalism exhibited by the personnel under his Command and he entreated them to offer the same under the new Command.
Commodore Emmanuel Ayensu Kwafo upon his appointment as the new Base Commander for the Western Naval Command was in charge of the Eastern Naval Command, Tema in the Greater Accra Region.
A Guard of Honor was held in honour of the outgoing FOC as well as the 2 Garrison Commander as he departed the Base.
