The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) on Thursday, 18 June 2026, organised a Combat Fitness Test (CFT) for personnel consisting of a 10‑kilometre route march along the main streets from Tema Community 1 to Tema Newtown.
Led by the Command Operations Officer, Commander Lucas Xose Kofi Ocloo, the exercise formed part of ongoing efforts to assess and sustain the physical fitness, endurance and operational preparedness of personnel.
Speaking to participants after the march, Commander Ocloo stressed that physical fitness is fundamental to military service. He said operational effectiveness and combat readiness rely on both the physical and mental resilience of service members. He encouraged personnel to engage in regular physical training as a standard practice.
The route march was marked by high levels of discipline, enthusiasm and teamwork. The exercise gave personnel an opportunity to test their endurance while fostering camaraderie and unit cohesion within the Command.
The event concluded successfully at the Tema Naval Base, where participants were commended for their commitment and resilience.
