The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command (WNC), Commodore Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo, has led a high-powered delegation to commiserate with the Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketiah V at his Palace on Thursday, 12 September 2024. in Essikado.
In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and respect following the passing of the Chief’s mother, the visit saw the Naval delegation warmly received by the Essikado Traditional Council and the grieving family at the Chief’s palace. Commodore Kwafo expressed the Navy’s profound sympathy and condolences to the paramount chief, highlighting the late matriarch's role in supporting the rich cultural heritage and stability of the community.
During the visit, the FOC signed the book of condolence, leaving behind a message that extolled the virtues of the late mother. He praised her as a beacon of wisdom and strength, whose life contributed to the growth and peace of the Essikado community and beyond. The FOC noted that the loss of a mother could not be measured, and in the trying moment of the family, he, on behalf of the Navy hierarchy, wished to assure Nana Kobina Nketiah V, the family, and the entire Essikado Traditional Area of their prayers and support.
Nana Kobina Nketiah V expressed his appreciation to the delegation for their kind words and support, noting the long-standing relationship between the Western Naval Command and the Essikado Traditional Area.
The delegation's visit underscored the strong bond between the military and the local traditional leadership, reinforcing the Navy’s commitment to community engagement and support during times of need.
The FOC was accompanied by the FOC Naval Logistics (NAVLOC), Commodore Eric Osei, Flag Officer Fleet (FOF), Commodore Samuel Ayelazono, the Command Operations Officer (COO), Commander Michael Cudjoe, Commander Frank Boateng, Command technical Officer (CTO), among others.
