The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in collaboration with Sister Security agencies, conducted a joint route march in Tema on Tuesday, 23 December 2025. The End-of-Year exercise, led by 1 Garrison, underscored the collective commitment of the security services to safeguarding public safety, peace, and security throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Participants included personnel from the Eastern Naval Command of the Ghana Navy, 1 Infantry Battalion of the Ghana Army, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The eight-kilometre march commenced at Community 8 No. 3 School, traversed major streets within Tema, and culminated at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema, New Town, accompanied by morale-boosting chants that reflected unity, readiness, and resolve.
Addressing participants, the 1 Garrison Commander and Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, stated that the exercise formed part of a nationwide initiative by garrisons to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and enhance public confidence during the festive season. He emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration among security agencies in maintaining stability across both land and maritime domains within the Tema enclave.
The route march demonstrated operational cohesion among the security services in deterring crime, strengthening civil-military relations, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for the public. Representatives of the participating agencies extended seasonal goodwill messages and reaffirmed their collective commitment to maintaining peace and security during the festive period and beyond.
