On Sunday, 14th September 2025, the Ghana Navy held a solemn ceremony at the Western Naval Command Ceremonial Jetty to honour heroes lost during the tragic GNS YOGAGA ship bombing on 14th September 1990 in Liberia. The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who was the Guest of Honour for the occasion, commended the Navy’s role in maritime security, pledged government support, and paid tribute to the fallen.
Wreaths were laid by dignitaries, including the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing and the Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu.
