The Master Coxswain of the Ghana Navy, Fleet Chief Petty Officer Class One (FCPOI) Johnson Isaiah Chriss, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Western Naval Command (WNC) on Friday, 15 May 2026, as part of efforts to acquaint himself with activities within the Command and interact with personnel.
As part of the visit, the Master Coxswain paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command (WNC), Commodore Samuel Ayelazono, as part of efforts to formally introduce himself to the Command. The engagement focused on issues relating to the welfare, discipline and professional growth of ratings within the Command.
The Master Coxswain expressed appreciation to the FOC for the warm reception and wished him well in his leadership and administration of the Western Naval Command. The FOC also thanked the Master Coxswain for the visit and commended his efforts in engaging personnel across the Service.
Following the meeting with the FOC, the Master Coxswain engaged Senior Rates and Junior Rates in separate interactive sessions. The discussions focused on discipline, professionalism, commitment to duty and the need for personnel to uphold the core values and traditions of the Ghana Navy.
The visit formed part of the Master Coxswain’s broader efforts to strengthen relations with ratings across units and formations of the Ghana Navy.
