Students of Junior Staff Course 85 of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College have paid a familiarisation visit to the Naval Headquarters on Friday, 6 February 2026.
The visit offered participants detailed insight into the organisational structures and operational mandates of the Ghana Army, Navy, and Air Force. Staff Officers from all three services delivered comprehensive presentations covering their respective roles and capabilities.
Deputy Director of Naval Operations, Lieutenant Commander Timothy Nyarko Mensah, addressed the delegation on Naval Affairs. He underscored Ghana Navy’s essential mission in protecting offshore oil and gas installations, countering smuggling, and building robust maritime domain awareness.
He further outlined the Navy’s ongoing initiatives to bolster maritime security, including regular joint exercises, coordinated patrols with security agencies, and continued cooperation with local, regional and international partners to safeguard Ghana’s maritime domain and national interests.
The students were accompanied by the College's Chief Instructors and Directing Staff. The visit strengthened inter-service cooperation, mutual understanding, and professional growth among the next generation of military leaders.
