The Basic Training (BT) course 64 and 65 Group of Ratings, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu on Wednesday 12 June 2024 at the Naval Headquarters, Burma Camp.

The visit, which formed part of activities heralding their 25th Anniversary celebration, was to express their gratitude to the CNS for his mentorship and guidance during their recruit training.

The CNS firstly met with BT 64 group of Ratings led by Chief Petty Officer Class one (CPO1) Yirbito Mohammed and commended them for their dedication and loyalty to the Ghana Navy and the Military High Command over the years.

Rear Admiral Yakubu reflected back with nostalgia during his days as the Commanding Officer, when the two BTs first arrived to be trained as sportsmen and women. He thanked them for the visit and admonished them to continue to work hard for the betterment of the Ghana Navy.

Shortly after meeting with BT 64 Group of Ratings, the CNS also met with members of BT 65 led by CPO1 Theophilus Armah. Rear Admiral Yakubu expressed his appreciation to the BT for the visit and urged them to strive for greatness in their respective trades.

Members of both BTs presented citations to the CNS to thank him for his mentorship and guidance over the years.

Rear Admiral Yakubu also presented a token to the BTs and congratulated them for serving the Colours for 25 years with dedication and commitment.
