The Director General (DG), Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA), Naval Captain Kamal- Deen Ali (Rtd), paid an official visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, at the Naval Headquarters on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss ways in enhancing maritime security operations between Ghana Navy and GMA.
The CNS expressed his excitement in receiving the DG GMA as the visit was to identify and help provide solutions to some challenges facing the Maritime Industry, thus exploring various areas of further collaboration.
Rear Admiral Bessing expressed confidence in the DG in raising GMA to a higher level by bringing to bear his 21 years of experience in the Ghana Navy, mentioning how important it is to integrate technology in maritime operations.
The Naval Captain congratulated the CNS on his recent appointment, assuring the Ghana Navy of the Authority’s commitment in providing safety to Ghana’s maritime security with collaboration from the Ghana Navy.
