On Tuesday, 26 August 2025, a delegation from the Basic Training Course 70 ratings group presented a citation and smock to the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, at the Naval Headquarters. 
The group expressed gratitude for his mentorship as their Commanding Officer during recruit training in 2007. The CNS commended their progress, encouraged continued dedication, and congratulated them on their achievements and service to the Ghana Navy.
