BRITISH DEFENCE ATTACHÉ TO GHANA PAYS COURTESY CALL ON CNS

The British Defence Attaché (DA) to Ghana, Commander (Cdr) Richard Walters, has called on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at the Naval Headquarters.

‎The visit, aimed at introducing the new British DA to Ghana, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Nick Wood, to the CNS. It also marked a leadership transition while reaffirming the strong and ongoing commitment between the United Kingdom and the Ghana Navy.

‎The CNS extended his congratulations to Lt Col Nick Wood on his appointment and reaffirmed his optimism for the sustained and cordial partnership between the United Kingdom and the Ghana Navy.

‎Rear Admiral Bessing highlighted the significant support and contributions the UK continues to provide to the Ghana Navy, noting that such cooperation is instrumental in capacity building and professional development.

‎In his remarks, Lt Col Wood thanked the CNS for the warm reception and assured him of his commitment to working closely with the Ghana Navy. He added that he looked forward to strengthening the existing bilateral ties to achieve greater cooperation and progress.
