Awards Centre Ghana, a subsidiary of Point 5 Ventures presented some sports kits to the Ghana Navy as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility and also to boost the morale of personnel within the Navy.
The sports kits include essential items such as footballs, basketballs, custom-made jerseys and some other sports equipment.
Led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Percy Kwesi Amuah, the Company presented the items to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu when they paid an official visit to the Naval Headquarters on Tuesday 16 January 2024.
Mr Prince Annan, a sports journalist, who was part of the delegation, said Awards Centre Ghana believes in the development of sports hence the gesture towards the Ghana Navy.
On his part, Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture on behalf of the Ghana Navy to the Company.
He stressed the collaboration between Awards Centre Ghana and the Navy highlights the importance of the private sector’s support in fostering a strong bond between the Ghana Navy and the community it serves. He further added that, sports play a vital role in enhancing esprit de corps amongst personnel.
The CNS urged other corporate organisations to take keen interest in sports disciplines and take a cue from the exemplary generosity of Awards Centre Ghana.
The CEO Mr Percy Kwesi Amuah presented a custom-made jersey which featured the name of the CNS.
