The Commander of US Naval Forces Europe and Africa, Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu on Tuesday 30 April 2024 at the Naval Headquarters, to commend the Ghana Navy for co-hosting the second annual Africa Maritime Forces Summit.
Admiral Munsch praised Rear Admiral Yakubu for his leadership and hospitality, stating that the summit was a resounding success due to Ghana's excellent organization and warm welcome.
Rear Admiral Yakubu expressed his gratitude for the commendation, emphasizing Ghana Navy's dedication to promoting maritime security and stability in the region. "We are proud to have hosted this important summit and look forward to continued collaboration with our African and international partners," he said.
The CNS presented a plaque and a hand-woven smock to the Admiral to strengthen the relationship between the US Naval Forces and the Ghana Navy. Admiral Munsch in return also present a customized globe to CNS.
The visit by Admiral Munsch underscores the strong partnership between the US and Ghana in promoting maritime security and stability in Africa.
