The Chinese Defence Attaché to Ghana, Colonel Dou Yan paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing with the aim of strengthening military cooperation and diplomatic relations between China and Ghana.
The visit took place at the Naval Headquarters on Wednesday 21 May 2025.
During an interaction with the CNS, Col Yan reaffirmed China’s commitment in supporting the Ghana Navy and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at large, emphasizing the need for collaboration in addressing security challenges in the Gulf of Guinea.
The CNS on his part, expressed sincere gratitude to China’s continuous support, acknowledging their assistance in capacity-building, provision of training equipment and infrastructural development.
