The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon Emelia Arthur last Friday.
The visit, aimed at strengthening existing ties between the two institutions, also enabled discussions on mutual interest and cooperation.
The Minister stressed on the critical need for enforcement cooperation with the Navy enhancing surveillance and helping curb Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) fishing activities.
The CNS reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding Ghana's maritime domain by tackling piracy, illegal fishing and other illegal activities at sea.
Rear Admiral Bessing presented a plaque and a hand -woven kente stole to the Minister as a gesture of goodwill.
