Commodore Stephen Billins Nyam on Monday, 24 August 2026, began his first official day at work as the new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command (WNC), following a successful handover ceremony.
A Guard of Honour was mounted in his honour on arrival, marking the commencement of his tenure as the new FOC of the WNC.
Following the ceremonial parade, Commodore Nyam held a brief interaction with staff officers. He exchanged handshakes with the officers, a gesture that sets a cordial tone for his engagement with the command’s personnel.
The assumption of duty by Commodore Nyam signals the beginning of a new phase of leadership at the WNC.
