A delegation from the Danish Special Operations Command (SOCOM) led by Colonel (Col) Nicholai Stallist Moller have expressed commitment in strengthening their partnership with the Ghana Navy, specifically in areas of training and joint operations with the Special Boats Squadron (SBS).
The team revealed this as they paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing at the Naval Headquarters on Monday 12 May 2025.
Discussions with the CNS centred on overseeing the Navy’s Special Boats Squadron(SBS), in a bid to help tackle threats within the sub-region and security in the Gulf of Guinea, and also offer support to the Army Special Operations Brigade (ASOB).
Major General Lawrence Gbetanu, the Chief of the Army Staff who was also part of the discourse, expressed his gratitude to the Danish Government for their support to the ASOB which reflects in the area of capacity-building and operational support to the Army in enhancing counter-terrorism efforts.
Rear Admiral Bessing expressed his admiration and appreciation to the Danish government for their continuous support to the Ghana Navy in the area of expertise and capacity building. He also called for stronger ties between the Danish Government and the Ghana Navy.
