The Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Tema, on Thursday, 25 June 2026, held an Affirmation, Reaffirmation, Elevation and Initiation Ceremony for newly promoted personnel. The event, part of a longstanding naval tradition, formally welcomed promoted Senior Rates into the Senior Rates Mess and reaffirmed personnel’s commitment to the Ghana Armed Forces’ core values of loyalty, devotion and service.
Addressing the gathering, Flag Officer Commanding, ENC, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi congratulated the personnel on their promotions and lauded their dedication, professionalism and hard work. He said the ceremony marked a significant milestone in their careers and reflected their readiness to assume greater responsibilities and leadership roles within the Command and across the Service.
Commodore Asiedu-Larbi urged the newly promoted Senior Rates to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity and professionalism, stressing that promotion carries increased responsibility and accountability. He called on them to serve as positive role models to Junior Rates and to demonstrate exemplary conduct both on and off duty.
He further encouraged those who had been reaffirmed to leverage their experience, passing on valuable knowledge and professional expertise acquired over years of service. The growing number of Senior Rates within the Command, he noted, provides an opportunity to strengthen mentorship, supervision and professional development, thereby enhancing operational effectiveness and maintaining the Navy’s high standards.
The Flag Officer Commanding expressed appreciation to the Naval Wives Association and families of the promoted personnel for their support and sacrifices. The ceremony concluded with the formal initiation and induction of the newly promoted personnel into the Senior Rates Mess, marking an important milestone in their naval careers and reaffirming their dedication to duty and excellence.
