The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command (WNC), Commodore Stephen Billins Nyam, undertook a familiarisation tour of accommodation facilities and other properties within the Command, as part of efforts to gain first-hand on the living conditions and accommodation needs of personnel. The tour, which took place on Thursday 17 September 2026, further enabled the FOC to familiarise himself with the Command’s accommodation requirements and determine areas that require urgent attention and improvement.
During the tour, Commodore Nyam inspected various facilities and took note of challenges affecting some of the accommodation, including structural cracks, leakages and water shortages. The FOC also visited Bricksco accommodation, Caprice, Yakubu Villas, No. 8 (Quashie House), Tommy Barracks, Kweikuma Barracks and the Naval Officers’ Mess, which allowed him to obtain a broader understanding of the Command’s accommodation infrastructure and related needs.
