Ghana Navy (The Eastern Naval Command (ENC)), in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other security agencies, carried out coordinated rescue and relief operations in flood-affected communities across Tema on Monday, 29 June 2026.
Following initial assessments, ENC teams deployed boats and personnel to affected areas in Tema, including Waterland, VALCO/Sentuo, Tema New Town, Afienya and Alajo. Operations focused on evacuating vulnerable residents, delivering emergency supplies, and providing immediate assistance to households impacted by the flooding, prioritising the safety and well‑being of the community.
The Flag Officer Commanding, ENC, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, said water levels are receding across the impacted locations and there is no immediate threat to life. He reiterated the ENC's commitment to maintaining preparedness and readiness to respond promptly to any emerging emergencies.
