An induction church parade and stripe wetting ceremony has been held at the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), Nutekpor on Sunday 21 July 2024.

The ceremony, which took place at the auditorium of the School of Maritime Operations, saw the induction of the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) NAVTRAC, Commodore Asiedu-Larbi into office as the new FOC and the stripe wetting of officers of the Command who had been promoted but had not gone through the ritual.

The Service was led by the Director Naval Religious Affairs, Reverend Commander David Quayson. In his sermon on the theme: “Service in Humility in God Leads to Success,” Rev. Cdr Quayson charged the FOC to accept his new role with dedication and humility.  He also charged the officers and ratings to strive for excellence through high integrity, honesty, and dedication.

The FOC in his remarks, outlined his vision and stated that the Command had positioned itself as a Center of Excellence in the training of personnel and that of other institutions in the Maritime domain.

In a speech read on behalf of the Volta Regional Minister who was the Guest of Honour, by Hon Thomas Moore Zonyrah DCE for Central Tongu stated that the Government of Ghana had decided to cut short the travelling time from Sogakope to the Base. He disclosed that contract for the construction of the new road had been awarded and work had commenced.

He asked the communities in the catchment area to cooperate with the Command in opening up the communities for development.
