The Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) has held its Third Quarter Religious Parade and Farewell Service at the School of Maritime Operations (SMOPS) Auditorium, Nutekpor, on Sunday 4 October 2026.
The service, held under the theme “A Heart of Gratitude: Thanking God for His Blessings,” marked the close of the third quarter and provided an opportunity for personnel of the Command to thank God for His guidance and blessings. It also served as a farewell service for the outgoing Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) NAVTRAC, Commodore (Cdre) James Adongo Agambire.
The Islamic sermon was delivered by the Imam of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Naval Lieutenant Abdul Mannan Yussif, who encouraged personnel to recognise God’s blessings in their lives. He noted that such blessings could be experienced through good health, family ties and spiritual well-being. He further urged personnel to remain patient and faithful, stressing that although life comes with challenges and tests, individuals should continue to trust God and remain thankful for His blessings.
The Guest Preacher, Chaplain of Sogakope Senior High School, Reverend Nelson Kwame Tetteh, highlighted on the importance of cultivating a heart of gratitude. He emphasised emotional and physical well-being, spiritual growth and improved relationships as some of the benefits of gratitude.
Reverend Tetteh further encouraged personnel to make gratitude a conscious practice by keeping a journal and recording things they were grateful for. He also urged them to refrain from dwelling excessively on challenges, but rather recognise and appreciate the blessings and positive experiences in their lives.
In his remarks, the FOC NAVTRAC, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for His abundant blessings, as well as the health, strength and wisdom granted him throughout his tenure. He thanked God for the lives of personnel and their families, the various courses conducted and the progress recorded by the Command during his tenure.
