The executives of the Retired Armed Forces Officers’ Wives Association (RAFOWA) on Thursday, 21 November 2024, paid a courtesy visit to the Naval Headquarters.
Their visit was aimed at introducing their newly elected executives, to outline their vision for the association, and seek support for their upcoming projects.
Led by their President, Mrs. Bertha Amedo, the delegation was warmly received by the Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Commodore Bright Emmanuel Kojo Atiayao, and other senior officers at the headquarters.
Mrs. Amedo outlined the association’s objectives, highlighting RAFOWA’s commitment to community development, welfare, and empowerment. She shared the association’s ongoing support for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Cardiothoracic Centre and revealed plans to extend their assistance to the children’s ward of the 37 Military Hospital this year.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, the CSO congratulated the newly elected RAFOWA executives and commended their dedication.The CS assured them of the Ghana Navy’s unwavering support.
The meeting was attended by several senior naval officers, including the Deputy Chief Staff Officer for Policy and Plans, Commodore Faustina Boakyewaa Anokye, Director of Naval Public Relations, Captain (GN) Andy La-Anyane, Director of Naval Legal Affairs, Captain (GN) Naa Ayele Akwei-Aryee, Acting Director of Naval Training, Commander Tenzi, and Director of Naval Religious Affairs, Commander Quayson.
