The United States Naval Attaché to Ghana, Commander Matthew Kohlman paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu at the Naval Headquarters on Wednesday 19 February 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to officially introduce himself as the newly appointed Naval Attaché in a bid to strengthen the already existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Commander Kohlman expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and reiterated the US government’s commitment to supporting the Ghana Navy in combating maritime threats.
The CNS, on his part, acknowledged the US government’s contribution in enhancing the training capacity of the Ghana Navy as well as the donation of equipment geared towards the combat of maritime threats to ensure security of our waters.
The CNS presented Commander Kohlman with a plaque and a customized Ghana Navy Kente stole as a sign of the Navy’s hospitality and appreciation of the relationship between the two countries.
