Three hundred and forty-nine (349) naval recruits, comprising 257 males and 92 females, were transported to the Naval Recruits Training School in Nutekpor to commence a six-month intensive recruit training programme on Friday, 27 March 2026.
The group forms the latest batch into the Ghana Navy, having successfully passed a rigorous nationwide selection process. The recruitment reflects a continued commitment to maintaining high standards of discipline, professionalism, and service to the Republic of Ghana.
At a formal departure ceremony at Nicholson Stadium, the Deputy Chief of Staff Officer (DCSO) Naval Administration, Naval Captain (GN) Isaac Ziem Aratuo, congratulated the recruits for meeting the demanding selection requirements. He urged them to maintain the same level of dedication throughout their training, “adhere strictly to all rules and regulations, and strive to emerge as disciplined and capable personnel ready to serve the nation.” He stated.
The Director of Manpower at the General Headquarters, Commodore FA Nyarko, received a detailed briefing from Naval Captain Aratuo regarding the logistical arrangements for the recruits’ departure. The discussion focused on coordinating all necessary aspects of the movement to guarantee an efficient and seamless transition, ensuring that the recruits arrive at their training base in an organised and timely manner.
This development marks another important step in the Ghana Navy’s efforts to strengthen its human resource capacity with well-trained individuals prepared to protect the country’s maritime domain and support national security.
