The Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Commodore James Agambire hosted the Acting Commandant of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Cornelius Komla Lithur.
The visit was to enable the Commandant engage with the Naval Cadets of Regular Career Course Intake 64, who were undergoing communication training at the School of Maritime Operations.
Addressing the cadets, Brig Gen Lithur emphasized the importance of discipline, active participation, and resilience in their training. He highlighted that these qualities are essential for their development into competent and effective military officers.
He also elaborated on key regulations governing life at the Ghana Military Academy, stressing that the comprehensive training program is meticulously designed to prepare cadets for the responsibilities of military leadership.
He further expressed his appreciation to the instructors and staff of SMOPS for their dedication and professionalism in mentoring the cadets. He encouraged the cadets to seize the hands-on training opportunities available to them to foster personal growth, teamwork, and integrity.
As part of the visit, Brig Gen Lithur and his entourage toured NAVTRAC’s state-of-the-art training facilities, including the “Ship-in-a-Box” and the Lill-May Didriksen Simulation Centre, to gain insights into the practical training modules provided to the cadets.
The visit highlighted NAVTRAC’s unwavering dedication to producing well-trained and disciplined officers, reinforcing its status as a cornerstone in the professional development of Ghana’s naval personnel.
