The Army Ladies Football Club has paid a visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu on Wednesday 3 July 2024 at the Naval headquarters, to present the trophy they won at the National Women's Football Association Cup.
The team, drawn from the three arms of service, was led by their Manager, Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Godfred Doodaa, and other technical officials to the headquarters and was received by the CNS.
Rear Admiral Yakubu congratulated the team on their outstanding achievement, praising their dedication and hard work. He emphasized the importance of sports in the military, highlighting the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
The CNS stated that the military has been the epitome of sports in Ghana and has proudly produced great sports men and women for the country. He presented an undisclosed cash to the team and assured them of High Command's zeal in supporting them to win more trophies.
The Army Ladies Football Club won the 2024 National Women's Football Association Cup after a thrilling final match against the Ghana Police Ladies Football Club.
