The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of All Day Ventures, Mr Kofi Appiah, has pledged his support for the construction of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong's special needs facility project, marking a significant boost to welfare-focused initiatives within the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
Mr Appiah made this Pledge during a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, at the Naval Headquarters on Wednesday, 24 December 2025. The pledge came on the back of the “Waves of Hope” initiative, a 3.1-kilometre open-water swim by Able Seaman Class One (AB1) Akutor Sarah Precious from Busia Beach to Abokwa Island in the Western Region on Friday, 21 November 2025. The CEO explained that the remarkable feat by AB1 Akutor has drawn national attention to the cause, and hence his visit and subsequent pledge to support the project. He further underscored the important role individual sacrifice can play in inspiring strategic partnerships in support of such military welfare initiatives.
The CDS project is designed to deliver structured, inclusive education specifically for children with special needs from military families, ensuring they receive appropriate care, support, and tailored learning to aid their development.
The Military Secretary at the General Headquarters, Brigadier General Errington Kojo Commey, presented a comprehensive overview of the CDS special needs facility, indicating that the initiative aims to ease service personnel's burden by tackling longstanding challenges in accessing care, therapy, and quality education for children with special needs.
In his remarks, the CNS commended Mr Appiah for his patriotic gesture and assured him of the Armed Forces’ commitment to transparency and effective utilisation of support towards the project. Rear Admiral Bessing emphasised that the CDS initiative aligns with GAF’s core values of duty, care, and responsibility to its personnel and their families, adding that such collaborations strengthen morale and reinforce the social contract between the military and the nation it serves.
