A ten-member delegation from the Ghana Boundary Commission, led by the Commissioner-General, Major General Anthony Ntem, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, at the Naval Headquarters.
The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen institutional relations and exchange views on developments within the maritime domain. The delegation was received with full military honours, including a quarter guard mounted in honour of the Commissioner-General.
In his remarks, Major General Ntem expressed appreciation to the CNS and the Ghana Navy at large, consistently supporting the Commission, in the effective use of naval platforms and personnel in protecting Ghana’s borders. He commended the Navy’s operational contributions over the years.
The CNS, in response, congratulated Major General Ntem on his appointment and stressed the role of the Ghana Boundary Commission as a key partner in national security. He said joint operations such as OPERATION ANOUANZE exemplify inter-agency collaborations in securing Ghana’s borders, and it was important to leverage technology to enhance surveillance, intelligence sharing and operational effectiveness.
The CNS further noted the need for sustained cooperation in addressing illegal activities along the country’s borders, including maritime-related crimes. He reaffirmed Ghana Navy’s readiness to assist whenever required.
