In line with the directive of the government on the nationwide clean-up exercise, the Eastern Naval Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the respective Metropolitan and District Assemblies, participated in a clean-up exercise in the Tema Metropolis, Dawhenya, and Prampram on Friday, 10 July 2026.
The exercise formed part of the Government’s two-day nationwide clean-up campaign aimed at clearing debris and restoring communities affected by the June 29 floods under the theme, “Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana After the Floods.”Personnel of the Eastern Naval Command, alongside other participating agencies, undertook clean-up activities across the designated areas, including the Tema Metropolis, Dawhenya, and Prampram, where they cleared waste, desilted drains, and removed debris from flood-affected locations.Addressing personnel, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, identified key sanitation challenges requiring immediate attention. He noted that the first day of the exercise focused on addressing these concerns through the clearing of blocked gutters and drains, removal of debris, and engagement with community members to promote proper sanitation practices.The Mayor of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Ms Ebi Bright, also commended the collaborative effort and urged residents to maintain clean surroundings and support sanitation initiatives to ensure a healthier environment.
