The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, hosted a dinner in honour of His Excellency Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah and former members of the 37 Military Hospital Advisory Board on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at the Anchor House, Cantonment.
The dinner, which served a dual purpose, was marked by celebration and recognition. It celebrated the appointment of His Excellency Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah as Ghana's Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and recognised the retiring members of the 37 Military Hospital Advisory Board for their dedicated service.
In particular, the dinner honoured the immediate past Chief of the Naval Staff and former Chairman of the 37 Military Hospital Advisory Board, Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, alongside Major General Raymond Kwablah Ewusi and Brigadier General Prosper Kwane Ayibor Junior, whose professional contributions have strengthened military healthcare and safeguarded countless lives.
In his address, the CNS remarked that the Netherlands remains a vital partner in maritime security, trade, and international cooperation, expressing confidence in the ambassador’s ability to build trust, deepen collaboration, and project Ghana’s values on the global stage. He further stated that the 37 Military Hospital prides itself as a custodian of health and welfare, not only for service personnel but also for civilians across the country. In this regard, he commended the former members of the Board, noting that their dedicated leadership and service have left an indelible mark on the growth and effectiveness of the institution, and wished them well in their future endeavours.
The evening also featured an interactive session that allowed guests to share reflections and goodwill messages, thereby strengthening bonds among participants. This was followed by the presentation of commemorative tokens to honour the ambassador and the retiring advisory board members, bringing the ceremony to a dignified close marked by unity, gratitude, and renewed commitment to national service.
