The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Commodore Raymond Kyaano, paid courtesy calls on the management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Honourable (Hon) Ebi Bright, as part of engagements following his assumption of command. The engagements focused on strengthening collaboration in maritime security, protection of critical national assets and community development.
At TOR, the Managing Director, Mr Edmond Kombat (Esq) commended Ghana Navy for its continued support in protecting the refinery and other critical maritime infrastructure. He also expressed TOR’s readiness to deepen collaboration in maritime security and capacity building.
Commodore Kyaano, on the other hand reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to providing effective security within Ghana’s territorial waters and supporting the safe movement of petroleum consignments. He also pledged continued technical and training support for TOR’s security personnel.
At the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Commodore Kyaano reiterated the Command’s readiness to support the Assembly on matters of mutual interest and provide operational assistance when required.
Hon Ebi Bright expressed appreciation for the Navy’s contributions to security, public order, sanitation and social development in the metropolis. She urged the Command to strengthen its involvement in initiatives addressing youth delinquency and substance abuse, while maintaining engagement with traditional authorities and local leaders.
The engagements reaffirmed the ENC’s commitment to strengthening stakeholder partnerships in support of national security and development.
