The Director General (DG), National Signals Bureau (NSB) Mr Kwabena Adu-Boahene has praised the exceptional leadership style of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, describing it as visionary and transformative.
The DG highlighted the CNS ability to inspire and lead with foresight during a courtesy call on him at the Naval Headquarters on Thursday 8 February 2024.
In an interaction with CNS, the DG said the Ghana Navy Headquarters was his first visit to a military installation since he assumed office as the DG, National Signal Bureau. This, he said was as a result of the CNS strategic thinking and innovative approach to driving the Navy towards new horizons.
He added that the NSB likes to partner and collaborate with likeminded and forward thinking institutions like the Ghana Navy, to enable them achieve their mandate to provide integrated secure signal systems for the national security and intelligence agencies.
Rear Admiral Yakubu on his part, commended the DG, NSB for his sterling leadership at the bureau and also for helping the Ghana Navy fulfil its mandate as a Naval force. He expressed immense interest in exploring potential partnerships with the NSB to enhance Ghana Navy’s defence capabilities. He assured the delegation of the Ghana Navy’s commitment to supporting the bureau’s cyber defence initiatives.
The CNS earlier on Wednesday 7 February 2024, conferred with a 2-Man delegation from the Bureau led by the Deputy Director General (DDG) Mr Kwasi Nkansah Dwira, on the current cyber landscape and the challenges faced by the Ghana Navy in safeguarding systems and data.
Rear Admiral Yakubu and his Staff Officers later took the DG on a tour of the Maritime Operations Centres at the Naval Headquarters, where they were acquainted on the operations of the Ghana Navy.
